The Lovely Linden!
June 14, 2006
This is a beautiful Linden tree that is growing at the south end of Lincoln Park in Chicago! I've always wanted to smell one in full flower, but somehow I've always missed them! As we were leaving the farmers market that is held every Weds. and Sat. in the park, I got a whiff of the most fantastic honey like fragrance! I was thrilled, because within three days you won't be able to get near that tree! The Linden is nicknamed "The Bee Tree!" because it produces such a sweet fragrance that in full bloom you will see more bees than you've ever seen in one place! Linden flower tisane is widely used in France for it's relaxing qualities and Linden flower honey is so fragrant! Joe Malone makes a beautiful fragrance called French Lime Blossom, which is a perfect replication of the experience of standing under this tree in full flower with the scents of herbs from the nearby market stands whafting around me!
