Sometimes the simplest foods are the best foods. I love salads and I try to eat at least one a day. Compose them with really fresh ingredients, keep them simple and above all dress them lightly, that's the real key!
Here you see two different ones, the first is composed of fresh greens and topped with ripe heirloom tomatoes, dried cranberries, a bit of blue cheese and a fried egg, the second is a "stripper salad" ( love the name!) made from fresh greens, mushrooms, avocado, red onion, home smoked bacon( a little goes a long way!) , blue cheese and a spicy turkey burger. Both are dressed with a simple vinaigrette made with garlic, mustard and olive oil and both are completely satisfying.
I could have used a hamburger just as easily and it would have been just as delicious!
Served with a glass of Pinot Noir, either of these lovely salads are a luxurious way to end the busiest of days.
